Janet is excited about her consulting business, Senior Care Administrator Coaching, where she provides operational solutions and support for Owners and Administrators. She provides avenues for regulation compliance with the Colorado Department of Health and Environment, (CDPHE) for all 3 chapters of Assisted Living regulation.

She strives to help Administrators be able to manage the day to day operations of an Assisted Living Facility making aspects easier and more efficient.

Janet also helps train staff to ease the burdensome hiring process for Administrators.

Janet has years of experience and was the Administrator / Executive Director operating 8 group homes for 14 years.

Her responsibilities included regulation compliance, including responding to over 80 state surveys. She established Policies and Procedures, a Quality Management Program (QMP) She established company budgets as well as provided oversight for insurance needs, payroll, accounts payable and resident census.

She has a current Administrator License with the State of Colorado.

Prior to being an Administrator she was a Marketing Director for 5 years responsible for all avenues of the marketing process.


Janet Cornell graduated from University of Colorado – Denver with a Master’s Degree in Health Care Marketing and her Undergraduate degree is in Business Administration

Professional assistance with CDPHE Compliance with Chapter 7, Chapter 2 and Chapter 24 of Colorado State Regulations for Assisted Living Facilities:

Janet is an Elected Board Member

Being a board member of CALA has allowed Janet to become involved in the growth of the Assisted Living Industry, as well as, help the members of the Association to manage and develop their business.

Through CALA she has also advocated for change through the legislative process. Janet is a true advocate for the senior care community in Colorado.

CALA represents over 650 facilities in Colorado. Janet is the Secretary and Chair Member of the Government Relations Committee.

Janet has been an ALAC Committee Member since July 2018 and plans to continue as a committee member through July 2024.

The Assisted Living Advisory Committee (ALAC) is appointed by the executive department director. The committee makes recommendations to the Assisted Living Department concerning rules and regulations and challenges the industry faces. As a committee member, Janet donates her time to be a guiding voice for the assisted living industry.

Janet is a Committee Member of Assisted Living Advisory Committee (ALAC) developed by Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to provide input concerning small group homes.
